The palace of Topkapi in Turkey is the official residence of Ottoman sultans between 1465 and 1853. The Place is built on a breathtaking site overlooking the Bosphorus straights and Marmara Sea. The fragrance is based on a opposition between a strong marine breeze and a powerful woodsy/spicy accord suggesting the palace itself. Whilst the finish is warm and ambery the start is fresh, aromatic and spicy
Head notes: darjeeling tea, bergamot, grapefruit, ginger, basil
Heart notes: jasmine, lily of the valley, violet, pineapple, thyme, lavender, cardamom, nutmeg, melon, cinnamon
Base notes: oak moss, vanilla, leather, amber, vetiver, sandalwood, palisanderwood
Pierre Bourdon has created the first fragrance for men at MDCI. Bourdon is the “nose” behind successes like Kouros for YSL, Cool Water for Davidoff, Féminite du Bois by Serge Lutens, and many others.
