(100ml/3.4oz Eau de Toilette natural spray)

This is anything but church incense. With Oliban (Grisens), the perfumer snatches the age-old sacred resin from the temple to draw it towards more voluptuous territories... Incense wood forms the core accord: this is a natural raw material, obtained by co-extracting incense extract with the seential oil of cedar wood. Cedar has the special property of producing reactions during the extraction process which modify the smell of the product. The fragrance gives off a powerful, fruity incense note when it opens, before yielding to a warm, balsamic, intensely woody-ani;malic and cedar base, enhanced with ambroxan overdose.

Mystical, perhaps. Sensuous, certainly.

Top note: Ambroxan
Heart notes: natural incense wood
Base notes: musk, sandalwood

The house of Phaedon was founded by two Parisian aesthetes, A. Phillipe & M. Stromberg. A zoomorphic emblem representing two Assyrian griffins crowns the legendary Phaedon of Elis. Born in Elis, Greece in 400 B.C., then captured by Spartans and bought by an Athenian slave trader. He was serving meal when one of the guests asked his new master a question. Phaedon was the one who answered the guest, who was none other than Socrates. Dazzled by Phaedon's wit and beauty, the philosopher bought the young man and made him his disciple. Phaedon's scents, composed by guest perfumers, come in either eau de toilette or highly concentrated eau de parfum.
