(100 ml/3.4oz Eau de Parfum natural spray)
For Escentric 04, Geza Schoen took inspiration from the grapefruit accents in Javanol. The result is an uniquely fresh interpretation of a sandalwood fragrance: fizzing with crisp, bitter topnotes of pink grapefruit peel. Juniper and pink pepper give an extra shot of freshness, and marijuana brings out the softer qualities of the grapefruit pith.
The heart is orris with a 'fresh soft rose' that Schoen composed from four different rose materials. The drydown is balsamic and woody with Javanol in combination with the somewhat sweeter sandalwood molecule, Polysantol.
Top notes: Methyl pamplemousse, Pink grapefruit, Marijuana, Bergamot, Juniper berry, Pink pepper
Heart notes: Hedione, Freesia, Osmanthus, Orris, Rose
Base notes: Javanol, Mastic, Labdanum, Iso E Super, Musk, Ambroxan, Castoreum, Vetiver

Escentric Molecules was launched in 2006 as a challenge. Geza Schoen, a Berlin-based perfumer with a long track record in the fragrance industry, wanted to make a deliberately provocative comment on the way fragrance is made and marketed today. He was keen to de-mystify the whole process. So his proposal was this: the simultaneous launch of two scents, one a heady synthesis of different ingredients (which is how most people would understand the concept of fragrance), the other, an homage to the single note – the aroma-molecule – which determined the personality of that synthesis.
