(55ml/1.85oz Eau de Parfum natural spray)
October, 1175, Calabria, Italy:
In Medieval Calabria, a family gathers to celebrate a good harvest. Within a cabin built of Palm leaves and other woody branches, an aromatic bounty is presented. The citrusy scent of the Etrog citron, a regional specialty, brightens the air, while bracing Myrtle and lush Date Fruit envelope the sweet warmth of the Mediterranean night.
Head notes: Calabrese Cedrat, Calabrese Bergamot, Sicilian Lemon and Myrtle.
Heart notes: Smyrna Date fruit, North African Jasmine and Pistachio tree resin (lentisque).
Base notes: Vetyvert, Patchouli and Lebanese Cedar wood.
“The first time I ever came across an Etrog was at my Jewish primary school. The strength of the fragrance is memorable. When the holiday of Sukkot came, we were taught the meaning of the Four Species. They consist of a bouquet of date palm, myrtle, willow and the Etrog, bound to bless the people gathered for the holiday. Their significance relies on the individual meaning of each ‘species’, they symbolize different types of people, good and bad, educated and not, and also different parts of the human body (the Etrog is the ‘heart’). By binding them together, all types of people are represented and blessed by God. It is a nice metaphor and beautiful lesson… - Carlos Huber
